Descriptive Text

  1. The Definition and Purpose of Descriptive Text
Descriptive text is a text to describe what a person or a thing is like.
Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.

     2. The Generic Structure of Descriptive Text
Descriptive text has structure as below:
  • Identification; identifying the phenomenon to be described.
  • Description; describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or/and characteristics 
3. The Language Feature of Descriptive Text
  • Using attributive and identifying process.
  • Using adjective and classifiers in nominal group.
  • Using simple present tense

Kunyit ( Curcuma domestic ) termasuk salah satu tanaman rempah dan obat. Tanaman kunyit berupa semak memiliki tinggi kira-kira 70cm. Kunyit memiliki batang semu, akar serabut berwarna coklat muda dan membentuk rimpang. Daun kunyit berbentuk lanset memanjang, tulang daunnya menyirip, pangkal dan ujungnya meruncing, berwarna hijau pucat, mempunyai tangkai yang panjang dengan panjang sekitar 40 cm. Rimpangnya memanjang berbentuk jari,berwarna kuning, dan sedikit bersisik. Kunyit hidup subur di kawasan lapang dan mendapat cahaya matahari.
            Bagian tanaman kunyit yang dijadikan bumbu dapur adalah rimpang dan daunnya. Daun kunyit memberikan aroma harum pada masakan dan rimpangnya memberikan warna kuning pada masakan. Hampir setiap bangsa Asia umumnya pernah mengkonsumsi tanaman rempah ini, baik sebagai pelengkap bumbu masakan, jamu atau untuk menjaga kesehatan dan kecantikan.

Turmeric (Curcuma domestic) including one of the spices and medicinal plants. Turmeric plants such as shrubs which have a high approximately 70 cm. Turmeric has a pseudo stem, light brown fibrous roots and has rhizomes form. The leaves turmeric shaped lancet elongated, the leaves are pinnate, the base of and edges are taper, green pale, have stalks long about 40 cm. The Rhizome elongated finger-shaped, yellow, and slightly scaly.
Turmeric life thrives in the area region of airy and got sunlight.
The part of turmeric that used as herbs is a rhizome and leaves. Turmeric leaves give the fragrance in cooking and rhizome gives yellow color to the dish. Almost everyone Indonesia and India as well as Asian nations generally have to consume this spice plants, both as a culinary spice supplement, or herbal medicine to maintain health and beauty.
